Cattle population [1] in December 2025 reached 6 143.3 thousand heads and was lower by 0.8% compared to December of last year. The decrease in the total number of cattle herd resulted from a decrease in the population of almost all heard age groups except calves. 

In December 2025, the cattle population was 6 143.3 thousand heads and was by 47.2 thousand heads (0.8%) lower than a year earlier, while in comparison to the number of the head size in June 2025, the population was decreased by 3.9 thousand heads (0.1%).
