Accidents at work in the first quarter of 2026
17,084 persons injured in accidents at work were reported in the first quarter of 2026 (19.3% more than in the first quarter of 2025). The incidence rate (the number of injured persons per 1,000 employed persons) increased from 1.04 to 1.24 per year.
In the first quarter of 2026, the highest number of injuries was recorded in accidents at work with other effects1 – 16,960 persons. 92 persons sustained injuries in serious accidents, while 32 persons were injured in fatal accidents. 42 persons were injured while performing remote work or telework.
The highest incidence rate was recorded for Warmińsko-Mazurskie (1.64), Zachodniopomorskie (1.60) and Kujawsko-Pomorskie (1.53) Voivodships, the lowest for Mazowieckie (0.88), Małopolskie (0.95) and Podkarpackie (1.13).
