Employment in national economy in Poland in April 2026 r.
On the last day of April 2026, the population of employed persons in the national economy was 15 036.5 thousand and compared with 30 April 2025 it decreased by 0.3%. Compared with the last day of March 2026, their number decreased by 0.2%.
Among all employed persons in the national economy, men accounted for a slightly larger proportion. At the end of April 2026, their share was 52.5%. This was 0.1 percentage points (pp) lower than a year earlier and 0.1 pp lower than at the end of March this year.
The structure of employed persons in the national economy by PKD 2007/NACE Rev. 2 section did not change significantly from month to month. As at the end of April 2026, the most persons were employed in the Manufacturing section – 2 716.2 thousand, which accounted for 18.1% of the total number of employed persons in the national economy. This share was 0.2 pp lower than it was on the last day of April 2025. However, it remained unchanged compared with 31 March 2026. The second-largest section in terms of the number of employed persons was Trade; repair of motor vehicles, which employed 2 123.3 thousand persons, i.e., 14.1% of the total. This share was 0.3 pp lower than a year earlier and the same as at the end of March 2026.
