Active enterprises in the first quarter of 2026
In the first quarter of 2026, there were 2 872 113 active enterprises in Poland. With regard to the kind of economic activity, the largest population were enterprises from section trade; repair of motor vehicles (16.7% of total). The largest number of active enterprises had their registered offices in the Mazowieckie voivodship (20.1% of total).
In the first quarter of 2026, compared to the same period in 2025, there was an increase of 2.0% in the number of active enterprises. Micro entities (i.e. with up to 9 employees) accounted for 95.9% of all active enterprises, and compared to the first quarter of 2025, their number increased by 2.2%. Small entities (i.e. with 10 to 49 employees), medium entities (i.e. with 50 to 249 employees), and large entities (i.e. with 250 or more employees) accounted for 3.3%, 0.6%, and 0.2% of all active enterprises, respectively. In these three size classes, a decrease in the number of enterprises was observed compared to the first quarter of 2025: for small enterprises by 1.1%, medium-sized enterprises by 1.0% and large enterprises by 0.3%.
